This class focuses on both the sending and receiving of effective communication.  The majority of problems in business, organizations and relationships start because of miscommunication and misunderstandings.  Participants will learn how to deliver concise and precise messages, understand how words work, leverage non-verbal communication, and speak with confidence and thoughtfulness. Participants will also learn how to listen better, practice empathy and listen to non-verbal.  Performance will be immediately improved as the learning and techniques can be immediately applied.  Better working relations and performance will be realized with improved communication skills.  
 
Judgment and Decision Making

Business Finance for Managers

This program covers the basics of Finance for non-financial managers. Emotional Intelligence Basics

This course focuses on understanding the basics of what Emotional Intelligence (EI) is and how to incorporate EI into leadership capacity. Participants will the core models of EI, how EI works, its critical importance and how to develop and increase your EI capacity.  Participants will learn how it integrates this knowledge into their in the job performance. Effective Performance Management

This class is a powerful program that gets at the heart of what a manager does; gets a variety of people to delver on specific and quantifiable results.  Participants will learn the details of the yearly performance cycle: how to set goals with your reports, how to provide feedback, how to promote correction, and how to fairly evaluate performance.  Also there will be time spent on how to 'do" performance management on a daily basis so that employees perform their best daily and that the performance review becomes a positive and equitable experience.  A must class for every manager.  
Holding Effective Meetings

This course is beyond the basics of holding effective meetings to providing a road-map and managerial approach to getting the most ROI and output from your meetings.  Participants will learn the critical steps in preparing for and running effective meeting that produce the greatest results and getting the best out of meeting participants.  Along with the mechanics basic facilitation skills will be taught to run a meeting that people will be glad they attended.  Templates and "roadmaps" will be provided to participants

Correcting and Improving Performance

This course provides the tools and approaches to deal with under performing direct reports.  Ensure that you are equipped to deal with employees that are not performing to standard.  Participants will learn the methodology to hold the employee accountable and get them back on track. Participants will learn how to provide powerful feedback, co-design an action plan, how to be firm and tough on results but not on people and how to see the process all the way through.  Intense role-plays are performed to learn how to deal with archetypal personality types and typical excuses.

Change is a constant in life and at the work place.  This workshop provides practical approaches and methods to deal with change both at the personal and organizational level. Participants will learn how to mange change effectively in their own lives and how to benefit and influence the change for the best.  As mangers, participants will learn how to guide changes from to small tweaks to large-scale change in the work environment through proper communication, counseling, goals-setting and removing the barriers and restraining forces to the change.  Building resiliency and embracing change is critical to this competency. Creating Thinking and Innovation

This class teaches the foundation of how to Think Creatively and how to get others to do the same.  Participants will learn processes and tactics and overall approaches on how to get the best thinking from yourself and from those around you. Additionally, Innovation will be defined both from the point of view of process improvement and ground-braking ideas and how to innovate on a daily basis.  Participants will learn how to free their mind and be provided with a variety of tools to take back with them to help in brainstorming, generating creative solutions and how to launch new ideas. Building High Performing Teams

This course focuses on the ability to build a high-performing team.  Improve team performance by removing the barriers that keep team members from truly working great together. Leadership Live is an ultra-interactive group coaching program for managers.  The class is les by a management coach so that participants will learn how to excel in the common and not so common managerial challenges.  This program is comprised of real-time role plays and video evaluation all done in a live format. Leadership Live is a one-day program that provides the opportunity for managers to bring real and current issues into the training room and learn how best to handle them.  But the learning will not be in the form of theory but participants actually SEE and DEMONSTRATE what good leadership looks like. New Classes for 2009/2010

Leading Across Generations will provide and in depth look at the tendencies and characteristics of the Four Core Generations: The Silent Generation, Baby Boomers, Generation X, and Generation Y/ Millennials. It is essential to know that each generation has distinct attitudes, values, behaviors, habits and motivational drivers.   Each generation has developed their own views on family, education, technology, work ethic and attitudes towards work.

But this class goes where other programs stop.  Beyond knowing the characteristics of each generation the program teach how to cross-generationally:

Generational differences cannot be an excuse used by leaders to explain why performance is failing.  Creating self-awareness, generational awareness and developing bridging techniques allows participant to rise above the generational divide.

Leading Across Personalities

Effective leaders must be able to lead a variety of personalities.  Rule #1 in life, when it comes to people’s styles and personalities, is that not everyone is going to be exactly like you.  Rule #2 is that they will not be changing anytime soon. However, this diversity becomes a tremendous strength if tapped into properly.  Not understood or embraced, it becomes unruly, ineffective and chaotic

Leading Across Personalities uses the Myers-Briggs Temperament Indicator (MBTI), a psychometric assessment, designed to measure psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions.  Through this tool, participants can better understand their own personality preferences, styles and approach.  Once this is accomplished participants then can begin to understand others’ preferences.  By understanding others, participants will be able to better tap in to the variety of personality on their teams for improved performance.

Humor in the Work place
Humor in the Workplace is an intense and serious look at humor in the workplace. The right humor can heal relationships, improve communications, decrease stress, and make an overall better workplace. And yes everyone can be funny! It is learning about observation and reporting on the humorous side of life that allows anyone to be funny within their own authentic style. Participants will be able to explore their own sense of humor. This class will explain the difference between telling jokes and being humorous as well as all the categories of humor. It will help participants tap into their inner humorist while still being professional and respectful. Participants will learn how to use words and drawings to add the right amount of levity to any situation. Also taught will be the seven things that make something humorous. Most importantly the class will teach what is appropriate, what’s not and the appropriate time and place for humor. Get ready to laugh out loud at other people as well as yourself. The Contractor shall conduct two, 1-3-hours, Humor in the Workplace programs that will discuss the power of humor in the workplace, the close relationship between humor and stress, and why humor is one of the most important ways that we communicate in business and office life. Participants shall experience demonstrations of cartoons being created on the spot. The contractor shall have the ability to create cartoons on the spot about their jobs.

Improvisational Comedy Basics for Managers
The Improvisational Basics program uses foundational Improvisational Comedy principles such as staying in the moment, intense listening, division of labor and “yes and…” to increase effectiveness in interpersonal skills, creativity, and thinking on your feet. This program although very fun is a serious class that challenges participants to think quicker and focus like never before. It has been said that good Improv comedy feels like the brain trying to keep up with the mind. Good managers \ must have a real presence to deal with the many things their day will throw at them. This highly interactive class uses improvisational exercises to safely but intensely stretch participants in ways they have not been stretched before. Each exercise offers a new lesson that correlates to a specific managerial competency. Raucous and fun this program creates new levels of self-awareness, metal agility, and interpersonal capacity.

Managing Teams in the Virtual Workplace
Today many managers have to lead teams that have its members in different locations and across different time zones. Although the core principle in building a team and managing employees stay the same, how these are manifested across a virtual team differs. Learn the 5 step team-building techniques to use to build highly functioning virtual teams. This program also teaches you powerful techniques that are critical to holding conference call meetings, coordinating projects, and developing camaraderie. Learn the 5 pitfalls of virtual teams and how to avoid them.
